LUCKNOW: The State executive of Congress' Uttar Pradesh unit was finalised on Tuesday with Nirmal Khatri being retained as State president. With over 400-functionaries, including 34 vice-presidents, 64 general secretaries and 43 organisational secretaries, party has given a role to almost all the senior party leaders from the state.

Prominent leaders whose name figure in the list include Shriprakash Jaiswal, Mohsina Kidwai, Beni Prasad Verma, Pramod Tiwari, Raj Babbar and Sanjay Singh. Similarly, Satyadev Tripathi has been given the charge of party’s communication cell while Harish Vajpayee has been appointed as the party treasurer.

The move assumes significance as Congress President had last week asked the State unit chief and State in-charge Madhusudan Mistry to fix responsibility for the party’s debacle in last year’s Lok Sabha polls.
