Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ministhy S on Wednesday ordered deduction of one day’s salary of the Chief Medical Officer after he was found absent during an inspection of the district women’s hospital here.

According to the DM, CMO Dr Ajay Agarwal remained absent during her inspection of the hospital for around two hours despite an order from the State government asking him to be present.

Wanted clarifications

During the inspection, Ministhy is said to have found many lacunaes in the hospital system and wanted to seek clarifications from Mr. Agarwal. But upon finding that he was absent, she ordered a deduction of his one day’s salary, officials said.

The DM also gave a negative entry to Emergency Medical Officer Masood Ahmed over an NGO’s complaint about him misbehaving with an 80-year-old woman, Pacho Devi. An inquiry conducted against the doctor by Joint Magistrate Prem Singh Ranjan had found the complaint to be true.
