A three-year-old girl was found lying dead on a bench inside the Leisure Valley Park here late on Tuesday night. The deceased is yet to be identified.
The matter came to light when a couple taking a stroll in the park noticed the girl lying motionless on the bench. “The couple thought the girl was asleep. They called the police to inform that a minor girl was sleeping on a bench all alone. Soon a police team reached the spot and found that the girl was dead,” said Station House Officer (Sector 29) Inspector Ashok Kumar.
The police said the girl seemed to belong to a lower-middle class family. There was no identity or address proof on her. “As per the law, the body will be kept in the mortuary for 48 hours to make efforts to identify her before the post-mortem. There are no injury marks on her body,” said Mr. Kumar. The police said that all districts in Haryana were informed regarding the body and the picture was also being uploaded on ZIPNET for information across the country.
