Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered suspension of two New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) employees for “dereliction of duty”.

Mr. Kejriwal had made a surprise visit to Pilanji village on Sunday after receiving several complaints from the local residents about issues concerning sewage and cleanliness, an official from the Chief Minister’s Office said.

Following the inspection, Mr. Kejriwal ordered the suspension of a Junior Engineer and Sanitary Inspector for negligence, the official added.

Last year, New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi had adopted Pilanji village in her constituency to develop it as a model village under a scheme envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. — PTI
