About 1,000 Delhi Police personnel took over the security of 67 VVIP bungalows in the Capital from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on Tuesday as part of an exercise undertaken by the Election Commission to get more Central police organisation personnel for election duty.
The Lok Sabha polls in Delhi are scheduled for April 10.

The Union Home Ministry, on the request of the Election Commission, ordered the CRPF to pull its personnel out from the residences of 67 VVIPs across the Capital and asked Delhi Police Commissioner Bhim Sen Bassi to deploy Delhi Police personnel in their place.
