Change in MPD-2021 regarding media norms

The matter was placed in the 12th meeting of advisory group for taking up the mid term review of MPD-2021.

The Delhi Development Authority on Thursday approved a proposal for modification in Master Plan of Delhi-2021 for permissibility of media andnews agencies and media training centers in public and semi-public uses. This proposal was mooted on the request of India Broadcasting Foundation and forwarded by Ministry of Urban Development. The Ministry had suggested modifications to the Master Plan to accommodate 'media and news agencies and media training centre' and defining it along with socio cultural and community facilities.

The matter was placed in the 12th meeting of advisory group for taking up the mid term review of MPD-2021.

After the meeting, publication of notification was done in the gazette and suggestions/ objections were invited from the public. No objections were received.

The proposed modification in MPD-2021 includes allowing up to 30 per cent of maximum permissible Floor Area Ration for hostel accommodation for students and residential use for essential staff.
