Though the air cackled with uncertainty, there was a battery of television and print journalists along with a massive police presence watching members affiliated to various students’ wing bursting crackers and dancing accompanied to frenzied drum beats on the North Campus here on Monday. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took out a victory march on the campus , even though the rollback was not confirmed till Monday evening.

“DU website that was showing ‘Admissions for FYUP closed’ has now been changed to ‘Admission for undergraduate courses closed.’ What further proof do we need?” said ABVP national secretary Rohit Chahal. Teachers were, however, uncertain. “I do not know anything and cannot comment,” said Dean, Students’ Welfare J.M Khurana.
