With humidity touching 85 per cent, along with a maximum temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius, the weather on Sunday ensured that most people spent the holiday indoors. The Capital continues to experience heat wave conditions with a minimum temperature at 30.6 degrees Celsius, settling three degrees above normal.

Palam, however, was slightly cooler than normal with a maximum temperature of 42.7 degrees Celsius.

Relief ahead?

The MeT office has predicted dust storms and thunderstorms for Monday afternoon and night. The forecast reads “partly cloudy sky with dust storms and thunder storms likely to occur in some parts of the city towards afternoon and night”. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 42 and 31 degrees Celsius respectively.
