The Chief Election Officer of the Delhi University Students’ Union Election has provided an opportunity to the candidates contesting for various posts to reach a wider audience through its community radio 90.4 MHz.

The candidates will be allowed to prepare a five-minute-long speech that will be vetted and edited, if necessary, by a committee comprising the Chief Election Officer, Chief Returning Officer and Returning Officer.

Repeat broadcasts

The Election Officer said the speech for each post will be broadcast in the alphabetical order of the candidates. The speeches will see repeat broadcasts on September 7 and 8. Candidates wishing to avail this opportunity have to submit their speech in the digital format on September 6. The speeches will also be broadcast on the DU website. The Election Officer has also asked students to use social media as much as possible to run their campaign so that paper is not wasted. It is also a cheaper way to organise mass rallies, the officer said
