Those looking for some adventure over the weekend, a fun event is lined up for them in the middle of the Aravallis, a short drive away from Delhi.
Adventure junkies can challenge themselves and others to finish a 5 km adventure race that requires participants to run on mountain trails, climb rocks, cross water ditches and scale military style obstacles.
The picturesque location at Camp Tikkling near Gurgaon offers friends and families a chance to have some fun in the winter sun on January 18 from 9:30 a.m.
Apart from the obstacle course, there are activities like zorbing, hot air ballooning, quad biking, and paintballing.
Live music and food will complete the experience that will be a change from the mundane weekends spent in malls.
After the Uber incident many women in the city have been afraid of taking cabs.
But those who have no option but to take a cab have reverted to the good old black and yellow cabs from the local taxi stands that are located in almost every colony in the city.
Gurpreet, whose family has been in the taxi business for two generations, says although taxi drivers have been given a bad name after the incident, business has improved for the black and yellow taxi drivers as people are now looking for safety and not cheap rates. “We are neighbourhood stands and are like a family. That is why we are trusted by people from our neighbourhood.”
Mehak, who is a single girl, says: “I cannot change my life but can take precautions to stay more safe and taking cabs late at night from the local stand is way safer. I once left my phone in a cab from the Jangpura stand and the driver brought it back to me.”
