Autorickshaw driver stabbed in another incident

An Uber cab driver was allegedly robbed of his car and mobile phone by three unidentified miscreants in Ecotech 1 of Greater Noida in the small hours on Tuesday, the police said.

Victim Yogesh had picked up the trio from IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram around 12.45 a.m. on Tuesday, the police added.

The trio forced Mr. Yogesh to drive to Vinod Bhati Chowk, where they robbed him of his cab and mobile phone.

The victim was dumped at the spot and the three accused fled in his cab, the police said, adding that a case under relevant sections has been registered and an investigate is on.

Screwdriver

In another incident, a Delhi-based autorickshaw driver was allegedly stabbed with a screwdriver in the stomach by two men on Monday, the police said on Tuesday.

The accused stole his cash and fled in his autorickshaw, they added.

The incident happened at 9 p.m. The accused duo had booked victim Gulshan Chaudhary’s auto to travel from Ashok Nagar market to Mayur Vihar.

“After boarding the vehicle, they whipped out a countrymade pistol and asked Mr. Chaudhary to take the autorickshaw to Noida Sector 11. They asked the victim to deboard the vehicle at a deserted spot and one of them stabbed him in the stomach. Mr. Chaudhary fell unconscious. The duo left him at the spot and fled with the auto ,” said Akhilesh Tripathi, Station House Officer, Sector 24 police station.

The locals informed the police about the incident and the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The police have booked a case of theft with injury against two unidentified persons under Section 394 of the Indian Penal Code.
