Even the residence of Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Maken’s in the national capital is not safe!

Three unidentified masked men attempted to rob a stereo from a car, parked inside Mr. Maken’s residence in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, on Friday morning, after locking the guard in a bathroom, a senior police official said on Monday.

According to the complaint filed by Mr. Maken’s younger brother Sanjay, their guard Vipin Kumar was tied up in a bathroom. “They broke the front left side window of the car but were not able to take the stereo. While fleeing, they left two plastic consoles of some other car stereos,” he said.

The guard claimed that around 4 am, when he came near the bathroom, three masked men threatened him with dire consequences if he raised alarm. They told him that they were going to loot Kotak Bank’s ATM which is located nearby.

“They tied the guard’s hands and tightened a muffler on his neck. After about 30 minutes, the trio unlocked the bathroom and Kumar went to the ATM where another guard helped him untie his hands,” the official said.

The guard then alerted Sanjay, who checked the premises and found that the window panes of the car has been broken, he said.

On September 24 last year, a burglary was reported from the same building where the Mr. Maken reside. While Sanjay lives in the first floor of the building, their other family members stay on the ground floor.
