Bureaucrats helped me transform Delhi: Sheila

October 18, 2017 12:57 am | Updated 12:57 am IST - NEW DELHI

A day after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said 90% of IAS officers did not do any work, former chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said bureaucrats had helped her transform the city,

On Monday, Mr. Kejriwal was addressing a gathering of pensioners of the erstwhile Delhi Vidyut Board when he attacked the bureaucracy, saying “90% of IAS officers don’t work” and just hold up work.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Ms. Dikshit defended the officers, saying: “Kejriwalji, Delhi has some of the most efficient bureaucrats. They helped me tirelessly in achieving my goal of transforming Delhi”.

Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken, who has been a Union as well as State Minister, also came out in defence of officers, many of whom have been at loggerheads with the Aam Aadmi Party government over the past two years.

“As Delhi & Union Cabinet Minister-I worked with same officers- Delivered & Won 5 elections in a row!” Mr. Maken said in a tweet.
