Bunty, the main accused in the murder case of a Burari property dealer and his entire family, had started preparing the papers of the properties they had encroached together in his name even before the killings, the Delhi police said.
Known to father
Bunty (27) came in contact with the victim, Munawar Hasan, seven years ago. Munawar was known to his father, who runs a welding business. They are residents of a village in outer Delhi’s Alipur.
“Hasan had approached Bunty’s father to get a gate constructed for a disputed land he had acquired in Alipur. He has been a confidante of Hasan ever since. Together they would intervene in disputed property, make their accomplices file PILs and then either grab it or buy it at reduced prices,” said a police officer.
‘Not given dues’
Bunty allegedly told the police that Hasan had been using him to threaten and grab disputed properties but not giving him the fair dues. Bunty also provided men for Hasan’s security after he recieved threats from rivals in north-east Delhi where he earlier lived.
Despite this, Bunty does not have any past criminal record while Hasan had several, the first dating back to 1989 when he carried out a kidnapping in UP.
