An intermediate plan was also in place to provide incremental growth broadband services to BSNL customers, specially to public utility services such as the SBI and other government and non-government organisations catering to the needs of the people, BSNL Chief General Manager M. People can now avail of faster ATM and other banking services in both urban and rural areas completing their transactions quickly, besides in self passport printing kiosks, internet banking kiosks and in cash deposit facilities.

He said in militancy-affected areas such as Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts, a detailed coverage plan was in the offing for installation of Base Transceiver Station with surveillance and optical fibre cable laying has already started for it.

As part of its corporate responsibility, ten successful students of the government-run Guwahati Blind High School and ten toppers of High School and Higher Secondary Examinations in the State will be honoured and provided special training to decide on their future education. - PTI
