Communist Party of India (Marxist) polit bureau member Brinda Karat, accompanied by a group of women representatives from the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), on Monday met with the young Jharkhand girl who was assaulted and robbed by two boys in Delhi on June 5.

The girl, who is undergoing treatment at GTB Hospital in Dilshad Garden, is said to be recovering and the two boys involved in the crime have been arrested.

The women’s group is now providing immediate support to the girl and is also working towards ensuring that proper action is taken in the case.
