A day after a hoax call on bombs planted at HUDA City Centre and Vyapar Kendra in the Millennium City kept the police on its toes, the Gurgaon Police received another bomb threat at Arcadia Complex here on Thursday. It later turned out be a hoax.
The call was received at the Police Control Room around 9:30 a.m. with the caller claiming that a bomb was planted at Arcadia Complex in South City II. Soon, the police teams were despatched and the complex was evacuated. “The complex was completely evacuated by 11:30 a.m. and intensive search was carried out. Dogs squads and Bomb Disposal Teams also reached the spot and the area was cordoned off,” said Police Commissioner Navdeep Virk.
However, nothing incriminating was found after two-hour-long search operation and the call was declared a hoax at 1:30 a.m.
Located in the heart of the upmarket South City II, the Arcadia is one of the largest retail-cum-office format building in the National Capital Region. It houses more than 300 shops and several thousand square feet office space.
Mr. Virk said the caller would be soon caught.
