The body of a 49-year-old man who had gone missing on Thursday was found in a park in Rohini here on Friday. The police said all angles including murder were being probed.
A passer-by spotted the body in a thicket in Japanese Park around 10 a.m. and made a call to the police control room. The man was later identified as Subhash Chand Mishra, who worked as a cashier at a shopping mall in Ashok Vihar. It was revealed during investigation that Mr. Mishra’s wife had lodged a complaint with the police the previous day that her husband had gone missing.
“According to the complainant, she along with her husband had gone to a temple in Rohini on Sunday morning. From there Mr. Mishra, who complained of headache, left for a hospital on his two-wheeler while his wife headed home,” said a police officer.
However, when Mr. Mishra did not reach home in the evening, his wife tried to contact him but his phone was found switched off. After making several failed attempts to call him, she lodged a complaint at the Prashant Vihar police station and a case was registered, said the police.
Even as the police were looking for Mr. Mishra they received the call about a body lying in a park. His wrist watch and some cash kept in his pocket were also found intact, while his two-wheeler was found parked in the parking area of the Park, said the police.
