Leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta on Monday joined the massive protest launched by Azadpur Mandi traders and workers, and expressed deep concern over what he termed the Delhi government’s inability to manage the affairs of the busy wholesale market.
The BJP leader expressed apprehension that the strike would not only lead to shortage of vegetables and fruits but lead to even high prices of produce.
‘Will go to L-G’
“I urged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to immediately intervene in the affairs of the mandi and remove encroachments, corruption, mismanagement and filth. He said that the DG is responsible for the mess,” Mr. Gupta said.
The Rohini MLA assured protesters he would meet Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday to request him to intervene in the matter. “I will also take up the matter in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha too,” he added.
