The Bharatiya Janata Party is yet to submit its election expenditure statement for the last Assembly elections to the Election Commission of India, the Association for Democratic Reform said in a report released on Friday.

In its report, the election watchdog said political parties are supposed to submit the details of their expenditure within 75 days of the completion of the Assembly polls.

The statement is supposed to contain the total amount received in cash, cheques and demand drafts as well as the amount spent under various heads. The Aam Aadmi Party did not submit its statement either, but since it was an unrecognised party at that time it was not required to do so.

However, the AAP wrote to the ECI on February 22, 2014, asking for 15 days to submit the statement. As per the ADR report, the ECI has not received it so far.

The Congress, in its statement to the ECI, showed a collection of Rs. 80.06 lakh and expenditure of Rs. 172.3 lakh. The Bahujan Samaj Party showed zero collections, but Rs. 57.97 lakh in spending.

In all, national parties collected Rs.94.72 lakh and spent Rs. 232.16 lakh. Regional parties spent Rs. 49.11 lakh and collected Rs.75.12 crore. In total, political parties spent Rs. 281.27 lakh on the Delhi Assembly 2013 campaign and collected Rs. 169.84 lakh.
