After Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain’s daughter resigned on Thursday as advisor to the Health Secretary, the BJP has alleged that Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Mr. Jain is related to the Chief Minister. Leader of the Opposition, Vijender Gupta, has alleged that Dr Nikunj Aggarwal is the son-in–law of Mr. Kejriwal’s sister-in-law.

“Firstly, is appointment of Saumya Jain as advisor in an important ministry like Health as advisor to the Health Secretary is legally correct? If so, then why did she resign?” asked Mr Gupta,
“Secondly, the appointment of Nikunj Aggarwal, son-in-law of CM’s sister-in-law as Private Secretary to the Health Minister, has been made in violation of all rules.
Had there been an advertisement for the post, thousands of qualified candidates might have had an opportunity to apply for the same which they have lost.”
The BJP is now demanding that the Lieutenant Governor should set up a committee headed by a Judge of the High Court, to probe eligibility qualifications of staff and officers appointed in offices and residences of all Delhi Government Ministers, including the Health Minister and the CM.
In their defence, Delhi government officials said that Dr. Nikunj Aggarwal is a doctor with the government’s Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya and was appointed as per his qualification.
“Doctors working in Delhi government’s hospitals are recruited as OSD to the Minister and Dr Nikunj along with two other doctors is on deputation.
He might be related to the CM but it is irrelevant,” said a close-aid to the CM.
The party said that the OSD to the Health Minister is
a relative of Arvind Kejriwal
