The Delhi BJP on Saturday criticised Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the manner in which he held the “Janata Durbar”, accusing the government of humiliating people by not entertaining their complaints.
In a statement, Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said: “Any person with common sense should know that holding an open public hearing on road by a Chief Minister is not feasible in a city of 1.6 crore population. So one is compelled to say that Mr. Kejriwal and his colleagues are merely playing to the gallery and this caused great inconvenience and humiliation to the people today. If AAP was really serious about public hearing, it would have held it in every department, at the constituency level and within the secretariat also.”
He said that political gimmickry should not overtake governance and Mr. Kejriwal and his team is desperate to take short-cuts to popularity in view of the Lok Sabha polls. Mr. Goel added that the Aam Aadmi Party has not only failed on key issues of power and water tariffs, but is also brushing them aside.
