The AAP on Tuesday opposed the BJP-run municipalities’ proposal at the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) house meeting to scrap the increased property tax.

Property tax

The party demanded that the property tax should be abolished completely.

Abdul Rehman, leader of the Opposition in EDMC, claimed that the BJP was merely putting on a show by demanding that the increased property tax be pulled back.

He alleged that by presenting this proposal before the house, the BJP had flouted the rules of the house.

“Before putting up a proposal for discussion all the councillors need to be informed of it in advance. But they did not follow protocol and put up the proposal for discussion,” he alleged.

Leader of opposition from the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) claimed that the BJP has been flouting the rules of the municipalities and if it does not mend its ways, they will come out on the streets to protest.
