The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), on Sunday, alleged that both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were instrumental in stalling development at the Capital’s unauthorised colonies.

After meeting potential voters during his ‘janpadyatra’ in West Delhi, the party’s chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said, “The local people were not only angry with the BJP and the AAP, but accused the former BJP MLA from Uttam Nagar for deserting his constituency as the development works in the area have come to a total halt during the past 11 months.”

Mr. Sharma, who also interacted with the youth and women residents of the constituency also explained to the electorate in detail the achievements of the Congress party during its 15-year-rule in Delhi, and what he described as ‘the utter failure of the BJP and the AAP’.

“The pension of a large number of old residents of the area has been stopped, and BJP leaders are not only insulting them in the name of renewing their old age pension, but also have proof of the BJP leaders demanding three months’ pension as bribe for resuming the old age pension,” Mr. Sharma added.
