A businessman was allegedly robbed of ₹35 lakh by four men on Friday in Model Town, the police said. They suspect the role of an insider.

DCP (North-West) Aslam Khan said victim Rajeev Gupta’s driver and manager were en route his house around 8.30 p.m. when the incident happened.

“Driver Ravinder and manager Om Prakash were in the car when four men came in an SUV. Ravinder said they broke the window and asked for boot’s keys. They took ₹35 lakh kept there and fled,” she said. Mr. Gupta used to keep the money wrapped in a polythene in the boot, something only a few people were aware of, the police said. A case has been registered.
