With the Leader of rebel Congress MLAs Vijay Bahuguna advocating early Assembly polls, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Monday took a dig at him asking him to approach his “new masters” with the request, saying he was sure that his predecessor’s second wish will be granted like the first one.
“He (Bahuguna) should go to his new masters and ask them to dissolve the Assembly. I am sure they will be kind enough to fulfil his second wish as they did his first by dislodging my government,” Mr Rawat said when asked to comment on Mr Bahuguna’s suggestion for early elections in Uttarakhand.
Considered bitter rivals politically, Mr Rawat had revolted when Mr Bahuguna was made Chief Minister of Uttarakhand in 2012.
Though he stepped aside when compensated with a ministerial berth at the Centre, Mr Rawat continued to be critical of Mr Bahuguna who had to step down to make way for Mr Rawat to take over as CM in February 2014. -- PTI
