Auto drivers in the Capital have launched a campaign against former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of betraying their trust.
Hundreds of autorickshaws in the Capital now carry posters that read “Kejriwal betrayed us...What did auto-drivers get?”. The drivers associated with Nyayabhoomi, an NGO working for the welfare of auto drivers gathered at Ambedkar Bhawan on Friday to launch the campaign.
Trust betrayedAccusing Mr. Kejriwal of betraying their trust, auto drivers claimed that in its 49-day rule, the AAP Government did not take even a single step that would benefit auto drivers. They listed the promises made by Kejriwal before elections such as arrest of auto finance mafia, creation of thousands of auto stands, rationalisation of auto fare, bank loan facilities, easing of permit conditions and said that none of the promises were fulfilled.
