Hindu College declares highest cut-off with 99.25-96.25 per cent for B.Com. (Honours)

Not 100 per cent but almost there. It is still a tough task for admission seekers at Delhi University with the first cut-off list declared late on Monday night showing the coveted Commerce courses commanding up to 99.25 per cent, a 99 per cent requirement for History (Honours) and an alarming increase in Humanities.

Hindu College has declared the highest cut-offs this year with 99.25-96.25 per cent for its B.Com. (Honours) and 99.25-95.75 per cent for Economics (Honours) . A startling 99-91 per cent is required to get into History (Honours) , a giant leap from its last year’s cut-offs which had an upper limit of 96 per cent for this course, 98.5 per cent for Economics (Honours) and 99 for its B.Com. (Honours).

Its nearest rival, Shri Ram College of Commerce, with its famed 100 per cent in 2011, has chosen to play it safe this year with its B. Com (Honours) requiring 98.5-96.5 per cent and B.A. Economics (Honours) requiring between 97.75 and 96.75 per cent. Last year, the upper limit for B.Com. (Honours) was 100 per cent and B.A. Economics (Honours) was 98.25 per cent.

At Hans Raj College, it is 98.5-96.25 per cent for admission to English (Honours) , 94-91 per cent for History (Honours), 98.25-96.25 per cent for B. Com (Honours) and 97.25-96.25 per cent for Economics (Honours).

Ramjas College has also set high standards for its Humanities courses with History (Honours) commanding between 96 and 91 per cent, English (Honours) 95.5 to 89.5 per cent, Economics (Honours) 97.5 to 94.5 per cent and B. Com (Honours) 98 to 96 per cent.

The formidable girls-only Miranda House College has set 97.25 to 96 per cent for its Economics (Honours) and 96 to 90 cent for History (Honours)

Kirori Mal College has also set 97.75 to 93.25 for Economics (Honours) and 96.75 for B. Com (Honours).

Daulat Ram College has set 97.5 to 95.5 per cent for its B. Com (Honours) and 95 per cent for its Economics (Honours).

The cut-offs retained similar trends on the South Campus Colleges with Sri Venkateshwara College setting 98 to 97 per cent for B. Com (Honours) and 97.25 to 96.25 per cent for Economics (Honours).

The all-girls Lady Shri Ram College requires 97 per cent for a B. Com (Honours) course, 97 per cent for Economics (Honours), 93.25 for B.A. (Programme) and 90.25 for History (Honours).

Jesus and Mary College has set 97.75 to 93.75 per cent for its Economics (Honours) and 95.35 for B. Com (Honours).

Lesser known colleges like Moti Lal Nehru College requires 99 to 92 per cent for a B. Com (Honours), 96 to 90 per cent for a B. Com, 93 to 90 per cent for Economics (Honours) and 91 to 67 per cent for a B.A. (Programme).

Science cut-offs are more forgiving although many colleges have declared above 90 per cent with Hans Raj declaring the highest cut-off with 99 to 97 per cent for Computer Science (Honours) and 96.33 for Electronics (Honours) and 96 per cent for Physics (Honours).

Hindu College has asked for a 97 per cent for Physics (Honours) followed by 97 to 95 per cent for Statistics (Honours). Ramjas College has also declared a high cut-off for its Science stream commanding 96 per cent for Physics (Honours).
