The mastermind is an MBBS student
An MBBS student who masterminded the AIIMS question paper leak earlier this year was arrested along with two associates hours before they were to leak questions of another competitive examination, police said on Tuesday.
“25-year-old Ravi Atri was arrested along with his accomplices Amarjeet and Nawal, from West Delhi's Shahbad Dairy area on a specific input yesterday [Monday],” said DCP (Outer) B.S. Jaiswal.
The gang was about to leak the question paper of an SBI test for recruitment of stenographers and clerks with electronic devices, Mr. Jaiswal said. The three were intercepted while they were going to Rithala side on the Barwala-Begumpur road on a bike with a fake driving licence. Thirteen mobile phones, including three high-end models, were recovered from them.
During interrogation, the three men admitted to having leaked question papers of competitive examinations earlier and that they had planned to meet one Chand at the Mount Abu School in Rohini Sector 5 to get the question paper of the SBI recruitment test, police said.
Mr. Jaiswal said the gang used to provide high-end mobile phones to their candidates to scan the question paper, a Bluetooth device, a wristwatch-shaped mobile phone and an earphone with a transmitter stitched to a shirt.
