Armed miscreants robbed a car belonging to a Lucknow-based hotel owner outside DLF Mall in Noida and kidnapped the driver late on Wednesday night, the police said on Thursday.
Sandeep Ahuja had come Noida to attend a wedding ceremony at a nearby hotel, and had gone to the mall before the ceremony.
According to Superintendent of Police (City) Arun Kumar, the incident happened while the driver, who has been with the family for the past decade, was waiting outside the mall.
Mr. Kumar said the accused kidnapped the driver, drove through Noida and Delhi, abandoned the driver and fled with the car. He added that a case has been registered in connection with the the incident and investigations are under way.
