Ambedkar University Delhi released its first cut-off list for admission to undergraduate courses on Wednesday, giving students from Delhi an advantage.
The university, which reserves 85% seats for students from the National Capital Territory (NCT), has released two lists — one for NCT candidates and the other for non-NCT candidates.
Advantage for Delhi kids
For B.A. (Hons.) Economics, the cut-off for commerce students from Delhi was 93.75%, which is significantly lower than that at Delhi University. However, for students from outside NCT the cut-off was 97.35%.
The university has also listed cut-offs for students looking to pursue subjects different from those they studied in Class XII. For example, for those who studied commerce in Class XII but want to pursue History, Psychology or Sociology, the cut-off is 98.5%, 98.25% and 98.5% respectively.
However, for those from the arts stream, the cut-off is 93.5%, 93.25% and 93.5% for the same courses.
Following past trends
Making it extremely tough for students from outside NCT to secure a seat, the university has asked for 100% marks from commerce students looking to pursue B.A. (Hons.) History, Sociology and Psychology.
Seeking 100% marks
Last year too, the first cut-off list had demanded 100% marks from students who wanted to pursue Sociology and History, but had not studied these subjects at school.
Non-Delhi students who studied commerce in Class XII had to have a score of 100% to get admission to B.A. (Hons.) English, History, Psychology, Sociology, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
Admissions under the first cut-off list will be done between July 6 and 8.
