Lok Manch convener Amar Singh on Monday refused to comment when asked whether the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, had any role in the flight of Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson from India soon after the Bhopal gas tragedy. He said it was not appropriate to comment on someone who was not alive.
Instead, Mr. Singh said the responsibility was that of the then Madhya Pradesh government headed by Arjun Singh, he told journalists here.
The former Samajwadi Party general secretary said Mr. Arjun Singh had owned responsibility immediately after the Bhopal incident and had not retracted from his stand. “What else is there to say.”
