The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Air Corporation Employees' Union on a petition by the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) seeking review of an order directing the public sector airline Air India to de-seal the offices of the workers' union here and elsewhere in the country. NACIL is the company owning Air India.
Issuing the notice, a Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice M. C. Garg and Justice Ajit Bharihoke asked the union to file a reply by July 7, next date of hearing.
NACIL in its submission alleged that the union was misusing the office premises and creating nuisance for the airline. Defending de-recognition of the union by the airline, Air India counsel submitted that since the union's recognition was not covered by any statute, it could be withdrawn any time.
In an interim order, the Bench this past Monday had ordered de-sealing of the union's offices.
