After refusing to take security cover, Arvind Kejriwal, who is set to become Delhi Chief Minister, has refused to shift to a government bungalow in line with his resolve to end the VIP culture.

Sources said Mr. Kejriwal has already rejected a request to move to a government bungalow after he becomes Chief Minister.

He is likely to shift to a flat somewhere near Delhi Secretariat at IP Estate in Central Delhi.

The ministers in Mr. Kejriwal’s cabinet may also not accept government bungalows entitled to them and are likely to prefer to stay in government flats following their leader’s footstep.

The Delhi government ministers are entitled to Type six or Type seven bungalows having three-bedrooms. Sheila Dikshit has been staying at a Type 8 bungalow on 3 Motilal Nehru Marg in Lutyens Delhi since 2003.

Mr. Kejriwal has already vowed to end the VIP culture like having cars fitted with red beacons.

On Tuesday, the AAP leader had refused to take security cover offered by Delhi Police, saying “God” provides him security.
