A 40-year-old advocate allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his chamber located at Tis Hazari court premises on Thursday evening. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot.

The police said the deceased has been identified as Vikas Sharma. The police control room received a call regarding the incident at 5 p.m. A team rushed to spot and found Vikas hanging from the fan in his chamber.

He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Vikas was under stress since his father, who is also an advocate and used to practise at Tis Hazari court, suffered a paralytic attack. Vikas had spent a lot of money in his father’s treatment but in vain. He also had some issues with his wife. “The family has been informed and the body has been sent for post-mortem,” said a police officer.
