Admit 2,310 LLB students: HC tell DU

June 29, 2017 01:17 am | Updated 01:17 am IST - New Delhi

Do not penalise those who want to study LLB by cutting down the number of seats, the Delhi High Court told Delhi University on Wednesday. The court, which allowed DU to admit 2,310 students to the course this year, brushed aside the Bar Council of India’s objection that the university didn’t have enough permanent teachers or infrastructure.

‘DU has great faculty’

In an interim order, a Bench of Justices Manmohan and Yogesh Khanna said since DU’s Law Faculty had been admitting 2,310 students since 2008, it could do the same this session too. “Why should people be penalised? They [DU] have larger capacity. They have a great faculty,” it said.
