The Arvind Kejriwal government on Saturday reiterated that the Anti-Corruption Branch has arrested 35 government employees across departments ever since the helpline was launched on April 5.
The State government issued a statement providing the action-taken report against employees found involved in graft.
The statement comes in the wake of media reports and opposition parties questioning the claims made by the government as achievements in checking graft.
On the advertisement panels across the city, the government has announced having arrested 35 employees and suspended another 152. However, the opposition BJP has been questioning the numbers with Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay daring the government to make the details of the arrests public.
A section of media also reported, quoting an RTI response from the ACB, that only seven government employees were arrested.
“The Delhi government takes exception to confusion being deliberately spread by vested interests about its anti-corruption drive. A Right to Information response giving details of first 35 days of work since the anti-corruption helpline was launched is being used to spread misinformation,” the statement said.
Though the ACB has been providing details of arrests made by it in cases of corruption on a regular basis, the government is releasing department-wise details to avoid any confusion, it added.
