Delhi Police have arrested an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker Ramesh Bhardwaj for abetting the suicide of fellow party volunteer Soni at her Narela residence last week.

Soni, the victim, had accused Mr. Bhardwaj of harassing her and had blamed him for forcing her to commit suicide in a video shot just before her death.

While the police had formed a Special Investigating Team to probe both the cases — the earlier harassment one being the first — the Delhi government too had ordered a magisterial probe in to the matter.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav confirmed the arrest.
