The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is coming up with fresh ways to reach out to voters before the municipal elections on April 22.
The party has placed projectors and LCD screens in each constituency to spread the message of its national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
A 20-minute video of Mr. Kejriwal talking about corruption in the municipalities and blaming the BJP and Congress for it, is being shown in all 272 wards.
“Delhi’s municipalities are responsible for the upkeep of cleanliness in the city, but all we see around us is garbage. The BJP and the Congress have looted the MCD money to fill their own pockets,” Mr. Kejiwal says in the video.

The Chief Minister also talks about the work done by the Delhi government in the last two years and the money they have saved in infrastructure projects.
“Take the example of Rani Jhansi flyover, which the MCD was supposed to complete. The project started in 2006. It has been 11 years and the flyover is still not complete. The estimate cost was supposed to be ₹177crore, but they have already spent ₹724 crore. We on the other hand have completed five flyovers in two years and that too below the estimated cost,” the AAP leader says.
Party members said that everyday around six shows of the video is screened in neighbourhoods, crowded market places and tea stalls. Each ward has been assigned two such screens. “For every show, we are getting at least 100 to 200 people. This means that till now we have conveyed Mr. Kejriwal’s message to around 1.5lakh people,” said a party spokesperson.
AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey said that the party’s campaign strategy will be based on the problems that the BJP and the Congress have ignored so far.
“We are confident that just like the people of Delhi elected us with a majority in the Assembly elections, we will sweep the wards,” said Mr. Pandey.
He added that along with the video message, a letter written by Mr. Kejriwal is also being distributed door to door. “The letter mentions how the BJP-run civic bodies have stalled infrastructure projects and have only minted money from voters,” Mr. Pandey said.
The AAP is also planning to hold neighbourhood sabhas to get to know the local problems of an area.
