January 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - NEW DELHI:

AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said he would ensure free education in all government schools till Class XII and open 500 new schools if AAP was voted to power in the upcoming Assembly polls.

“Free education would be given in all government schools till Class XII across the Capital. We will also open 500 new government schools in the city,” the AAP chief said.

He also promised to revamp the schools making them fit even for children of “MLAs and Ministers”.

The former Delhi chief minister was speaking at a well-attended rally at the Ambedkar Nagar constituency here.

Later, addressing a rally at Malviya Nagar , he reiterated that Kiran Bedi would be made a “scapegoat” by the BJP after the party’s ‘defeat’ in the elections.

“I respect Kiranji a lot but why she is not able to understand such a small thing that this is a conspiracy of the BJP to project her as chief minister so that they can blame her for the party’s defeat in the elections,” he said. Mr. Kejriwal said the BJP was baffled by the low turnouts in the rallies addressed by its MPs. — PTI
