Another Aam Aadmi Party legislator courted controversy on Thursday for furnishing “contradictory” details about academic qualification in the affidavit filed with the Election Commission during the 2013 and 2015 Assembly polls.
In his affidavit submitted with his nomination papers in 2013, Karol Bagh legislator Vishesh Ravi claimed to have a B.Com degree as his highest academic qualification, while in an affidavit filed ahead of the 2015 polls, he mentioned that he is pursuing BA from IGNOU. The discrepancy comes close on the heels of the controversy surrounding the academic qualifications of former Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar and Delhi Cantt MLA Surinder Singh.
The issue was, however, downplayed by the AAP leaders. “If anybody thinks there is any discrepancy in affidavits of Mr. Ravi, the individual should approach the Election Commission,” a senior government functionary said.
