Of the 217 first information reports lodged against the three main political parties in Delhi for violation of the model code of conduct till Monday, 90 are against the Aam Aadmi Party, 68 against the Bharatiya Janata Party and 59 against the Congress, according to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

The authorities have also targeted hoardings, and a total of 5,418 have been removed from public property till date and 2,739 hoardings removed from private properties under the defacement clause.

Further, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer has also received 2,162 complaints, of which 2,075 have been disposed of and only 87 remain pending.

In addition, 7,708 people have been booked against whom preventive action has been taken under various sections of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Delhi Police Act. A large quantity of licensed arms, cartridges and liquor has also been seized.

PTI adds:

So far, 87 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor, including 776 full bottles, and 1,226.7 litre of country liquor have been seized.

First information reports have also been registered against printing presses for not publishing the names and addresses of organisations under the Representation of People Act and other related Acts.

One hundred and thirty one people are bound down under Section 107/116 of Cr. PC and Delhi Police Act, while 222 non-bailable warrants have been executed, of which six were executed on Monday, a senior official said.

“The execution of non-bailable warrants is a very important step because elements who affect law and order are caught,” said Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev.

The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has so far received 2,908 complaints of violation of the model code of conduct.
