Humidity rose to 71 per cent, which made the day feel even hotter. The minimum temperature settled at 28.7 degrees, a slight decrease from the 30.7 degrees recorded on Thursday.

Those planning outdoor activities for the weekend may like to reconsider, with the Meteorological Department stating no relief. Instead, it has forecast “clear skies with no possibility of rain”. The maximum temperature is also expected to rise further.

Safdarjung, the official weather station here, was relatively cooler. The Palam station recorded a high of 44.8 degrees. Officials at Palam station informed that temperatures have risen above 44 degrees for the third time this summer. Such high temperatures also cause flight delays.

“Temperature above 44 degrees Celsius prevailed constantly on Friday, between 2 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.,” said an official.
