Delhi on Sunday got a breather from the soaring temperatures with the skies remaining cloudy for a major part of the day. The maximum temperature settled three notches below average at 36.1 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the pleasant weather is short-lived with hot sunny weather all set to return on Monday. “This will most probably be the last window of respite for Delhiites before they plunge into the harsh summer with temperatures set to soar well over 40 degrees C in the coming weeks. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 39 and 25 degrees C and the skies will become clear from Monday and Delhi will see a rise in temperature,” said the weatherman.

On Sunday, the minimum temperature was recorded a shade above average at 26.7 degrees while maximum humidity was recorded at 55 per cent.

Some places in Delhi even received slight rain accompanied by strong winds which brought down the temperature.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature on Saturday was 36 degrees C, three notches above average, while the minimum temperature was 24.6 degrees C, a notch below average.
