Photographer shot dead in south-west Delhi

A 30-year-old photographer was shot dead in south-west Delhi’s Chhawla on Sunday. The police suspect his friends are behind the murder as the victim, Dalchand, had left his Najafarh residence with one of them.

According to the police, Dalchand’s body was found by the roadside in Shyam Vihar around 9 a.m. on Sunday. It appeared that he had been shot dead a few hours earlier.

The body was found with a single bullet wound and was subsequently sent for post-mortem.

CCTV footage probed

A senior police officer added that the victim's family told them that he had left home on Saturday night with a male friend. They waited for him to return the whole night. Phone calls made to him went unanswered.

The family panicked when he didn’t return by early hours of Sunday and then informed police. He added that no suspects have been zeroed in on till now. CCTV footage of the area are being scanned to identify the accused person. Dalchand is survived by wife and two children.
