January 14, 2017 01:07 am | Updated 01:07 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Primary schools run by the three municipal corporations of Delhi would remain closed till January 19 due to the extreme cold weather conditions.

On Friday, the North, South and East Delhi corporations announced that their primary schools would extend the winter break so that students don’t have to brave the chill.

Temperature in the Capital dipped to 2.3 degrees Celsius this week, forcing schools to extend the winter vacations.

On Thursday, the Delhi government had announced the decision to extend the winter break from January 16 to 19 for its schools. While government schools would remain closed till January 19, some private schools would resume classes by January 16.
