As swine flu cases continue to rise in the city, 97 people, including 64 children, tested positive for the viral infection on Wednesday.

A total of 2,162 swine flu cases have been reported here till date of which 1,082 are children.

“97 positive H1N1 cases were identified on Wednesday. With this, the total number of positive swine flu cases admitted till date in all designated hospitals are 2,162,” Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia said.

Of these 97 positive cases of the A(H1N1) influenza virus, 64 samples were that of children. Almost 90 per cent of the patients have been treated and discharged or advised home quarantine, Mr. Walia said.

She said the situation is under control and the government is doing its best efforts in providing treatment to A(H1N1) patients in government hospitals.
