7 arrested for dacoity in Kalkaji

The Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested seven men who were allegedly involved in a dacoity in south-east Delhi’s Kalkaji earlier this month. The police also said that they had recovered cash and jewellery worth ₹1 crore, which the men had taken away after holding a couple and their domestic help at gunpoint.

The accused have been identified as Rupesh Kumar Singh, Sonu Gupta, Mohammad, Imtiyaz Khan, Ramjan Ali, Sudhir, Aakash and Samsher Singh. According to the police, a PCR call was received on June 13 about a theft in Nehru Enclave, Kalkaji. The complainant, businessman Naseeb Chand Aggarwal, had said that robbers allegedly took away ₹10 lakh cash and some boxes of gold and diamond jewellery worth ₹1 crore.

The accused were arrested after their hideouts in Delhi, UP and Bihar were raided.
