40-acre factory gutted in Neemrana fire

No casualties reported over 24 hours after the blaze

Over 24 hours after a fire broke out at a sanitary napkins factory in the Japanese Industrial Zone at Neemrana in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, firefighting efforts continued till late on Wednesday evening.

However, no casualties were reported.

“The entire factory, spread across 40 acre, was gutted. Efforts are on to douse the fire completely. No causalities have been reported so far,” said Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Hitesh Kumar.

Firefighting efforts

The fire had broken out at Unicharm India Private Limited around 8 p.m. The workers rushed out of the factory, and informed the police and fire brigade.

Earlier fears

Fire tenders from Rewari, Bawal and Gurugram in Haryana were called in to help with firefighting efforts. Workers in adjoining factories had expressed fear that three to four workers were trapped inside the burning factory.
