362 flats at CWG village added to general pool

The Ministry of Urban Development has enhanced the housing stock in higher categories in Delhi by adding 362 more flats in the general pool accommodation out of which 100 have been earmarked for chairmen and members of various tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) recently handed over these 362 flats at the Commonwealth Games Village complex to the Directorate of Estates. Sixteen such flats were handed over by DDA in 2013.

With this, the total number of houses in the housing stock in Delhi has reached 61,523 which include 14,906 houses in Type I category.

Urban Development Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu has approved earmarking 100 of the total 378 flats for allocation to the Chairmen and Members of various tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies. Another 178 have been added to the general pool residential accommodation and 50 each to Tenure Officers Pool and Tenure Pool.

The latest acquisition by the Directorate of Estates include – 3 Bedroom Flats (248-Type VB), 4 Bedroom Flats(82-Type VI B)) and 5 Bedroom Flats(32-Type VII). DDA had handed over 4 Bedroom Flats (9) and 5 Bedroom Flats(7) in 2013.
